Any comment on International Journal of Insect Science, Journal of Entomology and Nematology, Journal of Applied Biosciences, and Biopesticides International?

Regarding the International Journal of Insect Science, this is published by a company called Libertas Academica. This publisher is not on my list, but many find this to be a questionable publisher. Regarding the Journal of Entomology and Nematology, this is published by the Nigerian publisher Academic Journals, which is on my list, so I would generally advise people to seek a better entomology journal than this one. The Journal of Applied Biosciences is published by Elewa Biosciences, which is on my list. The journal Biopesticides International is not open access, so I haven't analyzed it.

I just received a wonderful email, actually two of them. The subject line was unpublished manuscript and this was the text: “Greetings: SJP International Publisher invite you to publish your manuscript in our esteem journal. We accept manuscript from all areas of study. Regards, Editor (contactdesk7@wildblue.net). Send an email that reads “STOP”, to end this email.”

I like how under “To cite this article” they misspelled the name of their own journal.

I do not understand how sciencedomain could be included in this list. this is because it me many months of correction and sending and resending before my paper was accepted. there must be something else being pursued. it difficult for me to accept.

IGI Global is not an open-access publisher, so I have not fully analyzed it.
Because it is not an OA publisher, it is not eligible for my list.

I warned one of my faculty off of publishing with SCIRP this morning. This blog post helped to explain why journals from SCIRP are not considered reputable OA journals.

I see that you have many, many articles published in this publisher’s journals. Perhaps it’s time for you to aim higher.

You do realise the book you are questioning says “NEW THEORIES!!”

I suggest you go look up that word in your wiki…its retentive people like yourself that hold back science by only regurgitating the science of the past, new science is driven by THEORY, the science comes later…You sir are a fool!

Religion was the birth of science, the birth of philosophy and the birth of many things. clearly you don’t understand that so you are not well placed to comment. all science study began with the question of the heavens and our origins and purpose, to not credit religion is like not crediting newton with current gravity theory because general theory takes president.

Just for clarity. I agree that urgent publishing fee does not make sense. However, there are 1-2 case/year in my editor work (open access, VERY reputable hournal) when I got a manuscript from the publisher, send to the reviewer and get their response in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately (for the authors), such a rapid response is usually REJECT, for plagiarism or complete lack of novelty. I have never seen a paper accepted in less than 2-3 weeks (on Communication journals).
