I recommend that you not submit any papers with this publisher. The DOI is not a measure of quality. Usually when publishers like this do not charge processing fees it means they are desperate for articles because they want to make it appear they receive many submissions. I see that one of their journals is called the International Journal of Scientific World. This is a strange title and it is clear that the journal will accept papers from all fields. My advice: find a better publisher than this one.

Sorry for the delay. I have added this publisher Singaporean Journals to my list. It publishes 33 very low-quality journals. The link you sent is for one of them. Thank you for letting me know about this publisher.

Thanks for your reply. What I thought about DOI is even if publisher shuts the shop, the document will be permanently preserved by doi authorities. Please clarify.

As far as I know, that is not true. These two organizations preserve scholarly content: LOCKSS and CLOCKSS> Few if any of the predatory publishers / journals are members of these organizations.

Dear Jeffrey, I’ve read the article of Dr. Jalalian and I don’t agree with one of the warnings he includes in his “to do/not to do” list to guide authors. He says that authors should ignore all call for papers emailed directly to them. Well, in the past 8 years, I’ve been the editor of a couple of journals in Latin America and I must say that many journals of the region do that same thing, precisely, over and over. They write directly to researchers and professors in order to ask them for a paper or to invite them to help to spread the call among other colleagues… at least it’s the way many Latin American journal editors work as many of our journals are not as well-known as the English speaking journals (as you should know, in the last few years some Latin American journals have started to be included in JCR or Scopus, but most of them are still in the bottom of these indexes because of their IFs).

Editors here go after papers, especially if their journals are still not very strong and if they’re trying to make a good job and a good peer-review process (sometimes to get 7-10 papers approved to publish an issue, you should get at least 30, 40 or more). The big difference, and that’s what Dr. Jalalian misses to emphasize, is that authors should make a distinction or look carefully to the journals that ask them directly to submit a paper and then send a bill when the paper gets easily approved (the timeline of the peer review is also a key issue; if you make it right it can take several months). The Latin American journals that I’m referring to here do not charge a cent for publishing. They’re completely supported by universities.

Indeed, compare the first address with the address of Annex Publishers from you previous post. They are the same. All these guys use the same famous (or infamous) Delaware incorporating services.

Professor Beall in response to to questions of June 21: Over the past 3 years I have published 7 articles in the International Review of Social Science & Humanities (IRSSH). The articles ranged from an historical/psychological examination of Black-Jewish relations, to a approach to Gestalt therapy as well as a series of studies conducted by myself, colleagues and students exploring Facebook Behaviors. The turn around time for articles ranged from 2 to 5 months. The articles themselves have been viewed, cited and download from RESEARCHGATE. The cost of publication has been quite reasonable averaging about $200.00. The Journal itself has been consistent in is publication schedule (I think 3 times a year) and is available open access as well as in hard copy. As you may infer I am quite pleased with the policies & operation of IRSSH and would encourage researchers who have had terrible experiences with other journals to consider publishing in IRSSH. I myself am a full professor of Psychology at California State University, Long Beach starting my 50th year of teaching. If you check out my webpage or RESEARCHGATE you will note that I have published 59 articles in peer-reviewed journals..

I have visited Hyderabad twice, a decade ago and last year. In the interim, it had changed dramatically. Of most significance here, already a decade ago it was developing into the IT hub of India, and I noticed that last year an entire area of the city had been renamed Cyberabad. Another change was that whenever you returned to the hotel, your taxi was screened for bombs and your bags run through metal detectors. Progress has its price.

I had not heard of this journal before. It seems to be published by a company called Dargah-e-ahlebait.

On their website, they say, “Journal of biotechnological sciences is published by dargah-e-ahlebait (Pakistan). A institute who prefer qualitative scientific work for publication. We have expert international team for evolution.”

I will try to make time to fully analyze this publisher (it appears they publish two journals). In the meantime, I would recommend finding a better publisher. This one seems very amateurish.

The value of articles is measured differently than the value of journals.
How many citations have your papers had, for example?
