I think I will submit soon a fake paper, just to see it accepted. I will report here the results.

After requesting additional information about their readership a week ago, I am still yet to receive anything, I’m amazed how they gained 90,000 readers in a few months and wanted them to prove me wrong, Hopefully they will get found out soon is there anyone we can report them to?

By the way, I have recently been included as a co-author in a paper by OMICS and the doi number does not appear in CrossRef.

I think I am going to write a paper that says, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!” and nothing else for 10 manuscript pages. That should be a suitable Christmas paper, don’t you think?

Dear Beal,

Do you think it is time to make some “fiability factor” for publishers similar to “impact factor” for journals” from an academic organization and then predatory publishers are automatically excluded?

I have started getting invitation from the Journal of the Pancreas when I do not have too many publications. Also the journal is now under Open access since March 2014. Its a journal of 14 years repute and high standing. What do you say Mr. Beall should i submit my manuscripts to them? Please help, I am in great dilemma whether to be happy on receiving such an invitation because I kind of know where I stand. Thanks in anticipation.

It appears that the society that owns this journal has entered into some sort of publishing agreement with OMICS Publishing Group, a publisher that is notorious for its poor and exploitative treatment of honest researchers. Therefore, I would advise that you proceed with extreme caution. In the end, it may be best to seek out a completely different venue for your work.

I wish I could find one, for it would make my work easier. The fact is, the predatory publishers are not transparent and hide much needed information, or they do not tell the truth about things. So, there is no way that your idea would work, unfortunately.

It’s predatory, and I recommend that you avoid it completely.

I have the International Journal of Engineering and Computer Science included on my list here. I recommend that you NOT submit any articles to this journal. I recommend that you find a better journal.

I picked an article at random. Its title is “Assessment of dynamic vulnerability by TCR method: Application to the aquifer R’Mel (Morocco)”. I searched for “Assessment of dynamic vulnerability by TCR method” in Google and found the identical article here:
http://www.iosrjournals.org/iosr-jestft/papers/vol8-issue7/Version-2/Q08729097.pdf. IOSR is another predatory publisher. The question in my mind is: Are the same people running two scams, or are the predators also poachers?
