I find InTech to be a low quality publisher with questionable practices. They publish multi-author monographs with dozens of chapters, and often the chapters are unedited and appear to be quickly written just to fulfill some publishing requirement. I advise researchers to seek out a better outlet than InTech.

Comment on Plagiarism in the “Journal of Sports Medicine & Doping Studies” by Peter Sorensen
Unfortunately publisher – including top ones – are to blame. A top publisher was informed of serious plagiarism in an article published in one of their journals yet they declined to remove it. Check for your self:

Comment on The Decline of a Library Journal — The Decline of ITAL by Ken Lanfear
I think your analysis needs to go back a few years before 2012. Was ITAL already losing money, so the switch to OA was an attempt to save a failing journal? Without looking back, there are too many confounding elements for you to draw the conclusions you did. Good reviewers would go hard on you!

Please can I publish in Scientific and Academic Publishing http://www.sapub.org/journal/reviewers.aspx?journalid=1082
I sent in an article and they peer reviewed it and asked me to pay. Please do you think they are genuine? Are they predatory and fake?
Comment on Criteria for Determining Predatory Open-Access Publishers (2nd edition) by Jeffrey Beall
This is Scientific & Academic Publishing, and no, I do not think this is a genuine publisher. I recommend that you find a better publisher. Did they ask you to make any revisions to your paper?

“{Thank you} to the experts…”? “I was able to get my {journal} published”? “Neilson {Comapny}”? Even if it were not dishonest to have your paper written by someone else, would you trust a company with such a poor mastery of english?

Notice that Phyllis works for the Neilson Comapny [sic].

Are there some real companies that write research papers? There are “officlal” and accepted paper writing companies in medicine, right?

It is definitely not dishonest to have your paper written by someone else. It’s called ghost writing, and it’s done all the time. You don’t even have to acknowledge the ghost writer unless a/he desires it. Some explicitly refuse to be acknowledged. (I don’t know what the publication standard are for this, but the very most that that could reasonably be required would be acknowledgement.) The listed authors of the paper are the responsible parties. They agree to be responsible for everything about the paper. If they allow an unacknowledged ghost writer to screw up the paper, it is the authors, not the ghost writer, who get(s) the blame.

Here’s a blog post I wrote when they first launched. I don’t think they’ve changed much, in terms of their ethical aspects, since then: http://scholarlyoa.com/2012/02/05/new-publisher-scientific-academic-publishing/

Oddly enough, their photographs all appear elsewhere on the Interwebs, advertising dental services and such as.
