Jeez – That’s all we need… MORE of Stephanie Seneff’s pseudo-scientific word salad available as ammunition for use by fringe elements!

Also, it is not within the scope of the journal at all. It is an article on human health, connected to “entropy” only using made-up terminology.

This publisher is not on my list.
It appears that they are launching a broad mega-journal (The Journal of Engineering).

Apparently they’ve “launched” a new journal, called this time Journal of Aquaculture & Marine Biology
and the inviting person responds to the typically Indian name of Catherine Davis with a phone N° in the US +1-918-208-0288 (if anyone wants to try…)
When will we get freed of this explosion of pseudo-journals, and how to tell the wheat from the chaff? Thanks for your useful site…FB

Most of the journals of EGU (european geosciences union) are exactly the same as f1000:

http://www.egu.eu/publications/open-access-journals/

and long before f1000.
The paper is published as is as a preprint and then reviewed but it stays there even if it is rejected. So far this works perfectly well.
So f1000 is following a very good model for an oa journal,
The problem is with the scientifically illiterate journalists.

This is a hijacked journal (the first link). Someone stole the identity of the legitimate journal (the second journal).

Dear Dr. Beall

Is the International Journal of Arts & Sciences (ISSN 1944-6934) a dubious journal? Thank you.

Yes. It’s really more like a travel agency offering travel packages and calling them conferences.

(1) Expert Journal of Economics (www.expertjournals.com)
I had not heard of this publisher before (Expert Journals). I analyzed it and found that it meets the criteria for inclusion in my list, so I have added it. I would recommend that you not submit your papers here. The journals are all broad in scope, perhaps to increase submissions and therefore revenue, and all four journals have the same co-EiCs, at least one of whom is the owner of the outfit.

(2) Journal of Global Agriculture and Ecology published by International Knowledge Press.
As far as I can tell, International Knowledge Press is not an open access publisher. I limit my work to open-access journals and publishers, so I have not fully analyzed this publisher. My guess is that this publisher’s journals have very few subscribers, so in submitting your work here you’d not be getting very much exposure for your work.

(3) Mitteilungen Klosterneuburg (http://mitt-klosterneuburg.com/)
This is the hijacked version of a legitimate journal. Please ignore the version of the journal that is at this website. See my list of hijacked journals here: http://scholarlyoa.com/other-pages/hijacked-journals/

I am not sure whether this is a case of journal hijacking or whether they are duplicate websites for the same low quality journal. In any event, I have both sites included on my standalone journals list and prefer to keep them there for now, to warn scholars to avoid this journal completely, hijacked or not. Enough.

Ok, I know the get the money back is very difficult but what about my published paper in this hijacked journal Sylwan? It was a very valuable paper for me. Can I send it to an another journal for publication? If I send it to an another journal, is it legal?

It depends. Did you transfer your copyright to Sylwan? If yes, then the situation may be very difficult.
I would recommend being completely open and honest with the new journal that you send your paper to. You must prevent being accused of duplicate publication.
I am sorry this has happened to you.

The journal’s publisher is on my list. I recommend against submitting papers to the journal or serving on its editorial boards.

Just in that moment another new OMICS journal was announced through LinkedIn: Mass Spectrometry: Applications to the Clinical Lab (MSACL)
aiming on the expanding field.
I run into the MedGrave trap but stopped any communication with them, run also into another trap, a new online journal by a known company, but through a Polish group. After asking me to become Editor I heard nothing, due to my work load I could not do anything for some time, in the end they expected me to do everything, did not even advertise the new journal anywhere. No more contact and warning if I hear anything about it, I heard nothing.

Dear Mr. Beall,
I had a submission to
“International Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics”.
The review process is questionably takes only 8 days!! All reviewer reports have suggested the acceptance of the manuscript. I have withdrew the manuscript.
After a deeper look at on accepted manuscripts, I have found that this is a pay-and-publish journal !!

Please check it at http://www.ijpam.eu/.
