Dear Professor Beall,

Please kindly advise on this one: ICLMC 2016 http://www.iclmc.org/cfp.html

They say all presented papers will be published in the IPEDR (ISSN: 2010-4626) as one volume and will be included in the Engineering & Technology Digital Library, and indexed by Electronic Journals Digital Library, EBSCO, WorldCat, Google Scholar, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, Cross Ref and will be sent to be reviewed by ISI Proceedings.

Many thanks for your usual kind advice.

Best regards,
Songyut

Dear Professor Beall,

How about this conference: Vienna, Austria, April 11-13, 2016 (The WEI International Academic Conference at Vienna University)
http://www.westeastinstitute.com/conferences/vienna/

They say accepted articles will be published in either or these journal:

Journal of WEI Business and Economics(JWEIBE) (ISSN 2166-7918 USA)
West East Journal of Social Sciences(WEJSS) (ISSN 2168-7315 USA)

Do you think they are OK?

Best regards,
Songyut

It looks highly questionable to me.

It looks like a complete scam to me.
What is your field? Is there a non-profit scholarly society (association of researchers) in you field in your country? I recommend you seek out such an organization and look into its conferences. These conferences organized by unknown companies in Osaka are all scams. Don’t waste your money.

Another gem from PLoS One

“To ensure prompt publication, your manuscript will not be subject to detailed copyediting and you will not receive a typeset proof for review. You will be able to review the final version of your manuscript when it is returned to you at editorial accept.”

Is there any other publisher in the world who does not provide page proof to authors for corrections before final publication? What if authors discover a problem in typesetting after final publication?

They are sure saving a bundle of money by not employing copy editors…and no page proof!!! almost like a publication machine not a journal

Yes, Rachel Green has just sent me an email as well based on my expertise! I am in a completely unrelated field and not a PhD. But I would get my name listed on the journal website! Woo! Not bad for an adjunct MA, if I do say so myself.

Dear Prof. Jeffrey Beall

I wounder on the criteria by which you listed the ISI of Thomson Reuters in the Misleading Metrics List. We know that most of ISI journals are reputed and they only use the ISI database for calculation of the citation of publication. However, some metrics which account the publication and citation of the papers published by predatory publishers are not appearing in this list.

Thanking you

The ISI of Thomson Reuters is not included on my list of misleading metrics. There are several companies whose names are close to the authentic name, a tactic designed to trick people.

Right, I think Thomson Reuters is making a mistake if they are conveying any mark of legitimacy to this journal. I recommend that researchers avoid all journals from Science Alert and/or Asian Network for Scientific Information (ANSI).
