It’s probably not a good place to publish a thesis. I recommend that you speak with one of the librarians at your university for advice on where to publish your thesis. You may be able to publish it in a repository.

Day before yesterday Int. J. of Mol. genetics and gene therapy added ISSN number. What do you think about that? Please write something about that

Please don’t use the ISSN as a measure of quality. That is not its purpose.

Comment on Editor-in-Chief of Clute “Institute” Journal Badmouths the DOI by Anirud

Came to this late but I find it a little puzzling how doctoral theses works were published here ( see Stephanie Slater comment above). Clearly, ppl want it in an A or B. If not of that quality, generally such theses are not seen as worth the paper. If JAESE were really of B or higher standing, it would not need such vigorous, spirited defence, would it? And not many buy into this patriarchal claptrap any longer. It is just another excuse. That said, DOI or payment alone should not be the criterion for blacklisting. In the case of Clute, I think there are more indicators than that, making it look highly questionable.

Please see my blog post about this publisher (and one other). Nova Science Publishers is not an open-access publisher, so it's not on my list, but I think it most cases and for most people, it's not a good place to publish.

This journal is published by Taylor & Francis, and the publisher is not on my list.

Oh. The journal is not on my list, but I would personally advise you to find a stronger journal for your work, especially one from your thesis.

I am currently involved in framing a response to a paper in a very traditional journal, where I and others think there are serious flaws. So far the corrective action by the journal has been correct, even passing our text to legal authorities to ensure there is nothing defamatory.
I think it is worth pointing out that although, so far, the journal’s response has been entirely proper, the paper concerned had been through 8 independent reviewers, indicating some problems. I make the point simply because editors have to walk a tightrope between censorship of the unconventional and garbage.
To reinforce Jeffrey, I doubt if many open access journals would go to these lengths when there are disagreements among reviewers. On the other hand, I am told that a journal like Nature will automatically reject if there is one bad review out of many.
It highlights another problem: the increasingly difficult task of getting competent reviewers: i.e. those who really know the field in which the paper is situated

Dear Dr Beall, do you have any information on a journal named “Clinics in Oncology” and is affiliated to ‘Palliative Care’? I got an invitation to serve on its editorial board. Many thanks

To marginalize the speech of others with whom they disagree, the thought police use terms like “laughable.” This is oppressive discourse.

It’s too early to tell. This publisher is not on my list at this time. They list their future publications, and each has a line that says, “ISBN” (no actual numbers yet), so perhaps they will be publishing only books, not journals. Or perhaps they don’t know what they’re doing. Again, there’s not enough information for me to complete an analysis.

I do have Clinics in Oncology on my list here. I am not familiar with Palliative Care. Can you send me a link to it? Because it's a common phrase, it's hard to search. Thanks.

Comment on New Questionable Publisher — New Conference List — New Plagiarism Book by Adam L Brackin, Ph.D

I’m not actively affiliated with I-D.net anymore, but have written for and edited three books for them which I volunteered to do. (Details on my personal website) The group is an inclusive and very open group with good peer-review processes that has the philosophy that conferences should be closed to those who contribute. Thus, every attendee also writes academic papers, presents them, and is required to be the audience for the others presenting. This is a very clinical assessment of what was for me a wonderful networking opportunity to engage with the international community of scholars and students exploring the various subjects they focus on. I strongly encourage anyone who wants meaningful connections or a break-out publishing opportunity to submit to inter-disciplinary.net. The conference cost pays the way for the hosts, who spend the season at the various world locations to bring cohesion and structure to the conference. They do a very good job and it could not happen without them. Best! -Doc B.
