Just received the same email as well, with the forwarded email from the colleague expressing a deep interest in my work (on freshwater fish ecology) for follow-up in Medical Research Archives. Incredibly broad journal.

Dear Dr. L

I hope this email finds you well. My colleague Reni asked if I could get in touch with you about your paper titled XX.. Firstly thank you for taking the time to publish this, it was an interesting read. I am hoping to have the opportunity to discuss having a short followup or perhaps a review article published in one of the next issues of our journal. I think our readers could be interested in a paper with information from any continued research or new data since this was published. It would not have to be a long article, but if you don’t have time for this perhaps you could also reach out to the co-authors or one of your students to collaborate.

If you have moved on from this line of research I am certainly interested in knowing more about your current projects; perhaps there is the potential for an article that would fit our journal. If you have any questions about whether or not a certain subject fits the scope of the Medical Research Archives I can put you in contact with Dr. Steven Lindheim from our editorial board.

Could you please let me know your thoughts on this?

Sincerely,

Dr. Kateryna Bielka, M. D.

Kateryna,

Would you contact the authors of XX. about possibly preparing something for one of the next two issues? Let me know if you can’t find the article online and I will send it.

Thank you,

Reni

Hey Lisseth and Mihaleva are very interested in my work on twin zygosity too. Lisseth even thought it was an interesting read! Including the “e-mail” from Mihaleva to Lisseth was a nice touch.

Damn Dr. Tovar can cut and paste fast. And Internal Medicine Review is quite the broad journal.

Ahmad must be referring to the great Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. how this is going to affect the visibility of the university remains to be seen if this list is strictly adhered to. except for South Africa, researches carried out in most African Universities are low quality and would hardly be up to the standard required by publishers like Elsevier etc. I think some of those African publishers on beall’s list are not predatory in the sense intended by Mr Beall’s, they simply publish the best they can lay their hands on. and the best unfortunately happens to be of low quality.

It’s out of scope for my work because it’s not an open-access publisher.
Does your library subscribe to its journals? Mine does not, and I think most libraries do not subscribe to this publisher’s journals. I recommend against hiding your work in this publisher’s journals. Find a better publisher.

This publisher’s website has gone dark before, only to return after a week or so. I agree that the website is dead now (2016-08-03), but I suspect it will return, unfortunately.

Oh thank you for this…
I received emails to publish my paper in these journals after presenting in a conference… Journal of Energy and Power Engineering; and Journal of Journalism and Mass Communication… both from David Publishing, USA…

I just noticed the emails full are of grammatical errors considering the fact that both are invitations for acadamic journal and based in the USA. Then I checked scamadviser and google about davidpublishing, and both gave the same result! its a predatory journal based on China!

I too was a victim of this fraud, the money isn’t the issue, but, the waste of a great paper and a tremendous amount of time spent. I passed up other publishing opportunities. Please shut them down before anyone else gets taken.
