Hi Jeffrey,
I noted that Clute Institute is on your list of questionable publishers. I have published with them a couple of times (and paid a fee) and currently have two new articles accepted, each charging a fee. They were submitted before I saw your website and list. Much about the publisher seems fine according to your list of criteria. I am not sure why it is on your list… Should I send an email to them asking what they think about this?
Clute’s fees seem high (i.e. $450 for 6-10 pages). And they have recently instituted a review charge, for usual and for expedited. Are paying fees always a problem?
The review process might be suspect: For one journal, I received actual feedback, but it was primarily about sentence completion and structure, not about content. For the other, it was accepted as is.
I have searched your website for any mention by anyone of experiences or opinions about Clute, but have not found anything. Can you advise?
Thanks,
Elizabeth
