Thanks to everyone for posting examples of the emails they received. It really helps take the guesswork out of this well-crafted spam..
I also received one recently (and the ‘have you been on vacation?’ follow up) from a Project Manager at International Innovation. It was tailored to my specific location and included the title of my latest grant. They are preparing the upcoming Australian Research Report and the email included pdf samples of their publications on some TOP scientists from Australia…
If I was Australia’s Chief Scientist, maybe I’d pay up the article processing charges too (details of which will be shared if I respond)!
