The answer is simple – as you say, just block them. As a matter of fact, I have three different email accounts and on all of them, I have blocked the incoming emails of a number of people and organizations who were annoying me. That always takes care of the problem. Otherwise, there is an “unsubscribe” option at the bottom of some incoming emails to the same effect. End of problem.
