Thanks for your reply. I haven’t had any experiences with this publishers but came to know of this through some friends who were interested in a book (perhaps) just published by them online. If it is reliable then I would like to recommend and also publish some works with them. I will wait for your analysis.

Bill: In fact, I do have this publisher on my main list, and I do recommend against accepting their invitation and against submitting papers. I wrote a blog post about them earlier. Thanks for your comment. –Jeffrey

Of course, using the free Journal Selector widget we developed, a user is likely to receive a lot more journal ‘hits’ but they will not receive an explanation of the ins and outs, or pros and cons, of targeting one journal over another.

When we eventually released the Journal Selector tool, we decided to make it available to ALL researchers for free. It was something we worked on for quite some time, and are soon to launch an updated version that is much more powerful and user friendly.

Thanks, yes, and I just received an invite to submit to an OMICS journal that was signed by Gabrielle Solis. If anyone watches TV (as I do), you may remember that Gabby Solis was one of the main characters on “Desperate Housewives”; off the air for a few years now.

“Rigorous and transparent peer-review.” indeed, as can be verified from the e-mails in this blog.

Also funny are the articles on line. The latest show article title twice, but only occasional ones show authors names.

So much for paying 1000+ for maximum visibility!

And look at the paper title published 4 July! I wonder how the authors like it!

Also, formatting is ridiculous, see e.g. paper “Balloon aortic…” with all the paragraph marks etc.

At least they are open with their policy:

“Three independent reviewers are reviewing each manuscript and if two of them accept the manuscript then your work will be published without any further corrections.”

I wonder whether the surprised informant read this before submitting. The journal justly delivered.

Their policy in January was even better:

“Review and decision will be fast and our editorial policy is clear: we will either accept your manuscript for publication or not, our editors will not ask for additional research.”

Funny!: the purported address of the publisher in Switzerland, Eigerstrasse 2, 3007 Bern, is actually an office building of the Zurich Insurance Group…

Correction…the 4 and 5 floor are used by two other companies.

Journals with what impact factor gets due credit in competitive exams?How good the `researchscholarjournal’ is?

I checked with ISI and they have not received any issues of that journal from the publisher since Volume 18, Issue 2 (Summer 2013) so that is the latest issue indexed in Web of Science. Sounds like the IF will be dropping soon.

I remember last year, in an important cardiology journal in my country (Argentina) one editor told me that the reviewer had to be part of the list of authors????!!!! obviously I declined to accept that and then I sent the paper to another journal
