Comment on OMICS Publishing Group’s Abuse of Researchers: More Evidence by Novice Researcher

I just read all the reviews. I had paid for my article to be published and I asked them if it will be indexed on pubmed. They replied that ‘we are working on indexing and it will be available in the near future’. Now i’m not so sure, so i requested my bank to reverse the transaction – which is done thankfully. I have also emailed them to remove my article from their archives. Still waiting for a response…

Thank you for letting me know about the <em>International Journal of Scientific Study</em>. I have added it to my list <a href="http://wp.me/P280Ch-J" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">here</a>. The second journal, <em>Res Medica</em>, is not predatory, and I am not adding it to my list. Thank you again.

This journal looks good. It is not predatory, and I am not adding it to my list.
It is a new journal, and I hope it is successful.

“Gallery proof” does mean something specific in the art world {i.e. a particular class of trial print of a printed artwork, lithograph or etching or whatever). Perhaps the author is planning to frame copies of the Review and sell it to dealers. It’s small enough.

“Analytical and Medicinal Chemistry Letters” seems to have gone down the memory hole as well

http://www.pharmaresearchlibrary.com/amcl-2014-volume-1-issue-1/

— although the publishers haven’t gone as far as deleting all the PDFs of papers in the first issue, as they did for ABMNP.

See dr. Ganguly’s link to another predatory publisher here
If the search function at “Pharma Research Library” is to be believed, the busy little grifter has published over 60 times in their various journals.

Thanks Mr. Beall.
Where can I find a credible and reputable source of impact factor?

The impact factors are published in a proprietary (costs money) product called Journal Citation Reports. I recommend that you check with your librarian to see if your university has access.

re: “Comprehensive Review on Some Medically Important Infections of Human” The first part of the abstract, about sickle cell anemia, seems lifted from the <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sickle-cell-anemia/basics/definition/con-20019348" rel="nofollow">Mayo Clinic site</a>. I'm sure the rest of the article is no more original...

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your response, I know this journal is available on your list of predatory journals but it is absent in the list of hijacked or fake journal. My actual concern is that is this a hijacked one or a fake journal because it is available in the Master Journal List of Thomson Reuters under Zoological Record.

Regards

I don't think it's a hijacked journal. I think that there is another journal that has the same title. The other journal is included on the TR Master List <a href="http://science.thomsonreuters.com/cgi-bin/jrnlst/jlresults.cgi?PC=MASTER&Full=Journal%20of%20Applied%20Environmental%20and%20Biological%20Sciences" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">here</a>. So, it's not a hijacking. It is only a publisher using the same journal title.

I have this journal's publisher, Academic Journals, included on my list <a href="http://scholarlyoa.com/publishers/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">here</a>. If you are considering submitting a paper to this journal, I would recommend that you find a journal from a better publisher.

If one looks at the IGI Open Access page (http://www.igi-global.com/open-access/), on the top right hand corner above Quick/Easy/Free, the word Beta appears. This is computer talk for saying that this version of the application is still under development. What happens is that beta testers use the software, and then point out to the developers issues or what they wants or the company is testing the market. This is quite a legitimate thing to do. Beta applications are a part of the IT industry.

Hi, this post isn’t dated. Is that an oversight or do you choose not to date your posts?
